Locating: Where can I find the information I need?
As the terms listed on the previous page are technical terms related to film and media you will not find definitions of them in general sources of information, such as general dictionaries or encyclopedias. It is necessary to seek the information needed in sources that specialise in film and media, including film dictionaries. There are a number of books and websites that contain definitions of these terms, as well as digital objects that will help you understand them, including videos and sound files. Use the websites below to write a brief definiton of each of the important terms and their affects.

This website is an excellent source of information on film techniques because it is very comprehensive. Also, the information is supported by many digital objects, including sound and video. A drawback of this website is that it has much more information than you will need so you will need to be selective. Moreover, if you are not one of the better students in the class you may struggle to understand some of the information in this website.
