Organising: How can I use this information?
In English, when we talk about organising information we are typically referring to text types (narrative, recount, etc) and their corresponding language forms, features and structures. Accordingly, in thinking about how you will organise the information that you have acquired you will need to think about the requirements of the applicable text type. As your knowledge of film techniques will be assessed using an exam requiring definitions and explanations of various terms, and scenes using the various terms, the text type that you will need to use in organising your informtion is explanation. The following are good sources of information on text types.
Blaxell, G. & Winch, G (2002) The grammar guide for secondary students. Melbourne: Phoenic Education.
This guide designed for use by secondary school students contains useful chapters on grammar, punctuation, word choice and text types. While it contains an explanation of the explanation text type, an annotated text organiser and an example of an explanation text it is fairly brief (2 pages). Accordingly, it would be best used as a quick reference guide to refresh your memory and to improve your writing.
Anderson, M. & Anderson, K. (2003) Text types in English 1. Macmillan.
This is an excellent source of information about not just the explanation text type but others, including recount and poetry. The chapter on explanations is thirty-five pages long and contains a wealth of examples, exercises, organisers and texts that can make you an expert at writing explanations. Either your teacher will have a copy of this, or the library will have one or more copies of this resource, or a large public library may have a copy of this.

If you cannot get your hands on either or both of the above sources this powerpoint contains pages scanned in from what is obviously a very good text book on text types. If contains information, examples and text organisers on all of the text types, including explanation. When you first see it, the page will be small but if you go to the arrow square you can make the pages full screen.
